Sutho 2nds take 2020 titles

Our Champs

Congratulations to our second-grade men’s team who, with a 2-1 win over Ryde this afternoon, took out the 2020 Major and Minor Sydney Hockey PL2 premierships.

We were initially behind after Ryde goaled early, but got that back and cracked in another before settling in for a long, tense, scoreless arm-wrestle at a drizzly Homebush.

We’ll have a full match report and a couple of massive picture galleries when our 2nds Correspondent resumes normal transmission.

But quick mentions to Super-Goalie Damon Arapa who saved a Ryde penalty stroke, and to Angus Callinan who fell heavily onto a ball at full speed. Angus wasn’t well for quite a while, … but Sutho man!

Goals were scored by Mason Neale and captain Michael Sharkey.

Congratulations to all the players and to coach Grant Hollyman and manager Tony Neale. And thank you to the Sutho supporters who trekked to Homebush on a miserable weather afternoon – but wasn’t it worth it!
